A
proven performer in European markets, Top Gun has
shown a more uniform shape and better fruit quality
compared to other Crimson Sweet types. This
watermelon variety has excellent seedling vigor and
matures in approximately 83 days with 21- to
24-pound globe-shaped fruit, bright red flesh, and a
"classy" Crimson Sweet rind appearance.
|

Sangria is the gold standard for eating quality in
the allsweet market. Typically the premium priced
watermelon in the market, this variety’s relied
upon performance has created a unique following
among growers, brokers, shippers, and consumers.
Sangria’s interior quality is characterized by
dark red flesh with high sugars and unsurpassed
eating quality.
|

Mardi Gras is a widely-adapted allsweet hybrid and
has delivered high yields of uniformly shaped fruit.
Under difficult growing conditions, its strong vine
has supported the fruit without the bottle-necking
seen in other varieties under similar conditions. It
is able to consistently produce watermelons in the
size range preferred by brokers and retailers. Mardi
Gras’ superior field holding ability also allows
growers to take advantage of market fluctuations.
|

Jamboree is an excellent choice when size commands a
premium. In commercial fields in the Northeast,
Texas,
Mexico,
Florida, and
Southern California, it has produced large watermelons with dependable
uniformity of fruit shape. Its allsweet heritage is
clearly identifiable in the deep red flesh and
excellent flavor. Under stress type conditions,
Jamboree has demonstrated the ability to produce
larger size fruit for added benefit in the market.
|

Escarlett is an allsweet-type hybrid with a high
yield potential and excellent flavor and flesh
quality. This variety typically produces large
watermelons with an elongated shape. The flesh is
firm with small seeds and small seed pockets. In
trials, Escarlett has shown improved yields compared
to current “standard” varieties and has
performed exceptionally well in
Texas
and
Mexico.

Melody offers growers the advantage of early maturity that is 5 - 7 days earlier than Tri-X® Brand 313. This seedless watermelon hybrid produces a uniform, medium-sized fruit with a globe shape and an attractive red flesh. It also features a smooth skin and a deeper rind color than standard seedless varieties. With a heavy and concentrated fruit set, the average fruit weighs 14 -16 lbs. This variety has the added benefit of intermediate resistance to anthracnose and fusarium wilt race 1.
|

Summer King (formerly RWT8203) performs well under hot, summer growing conditions and produces uniform, medium-sized fruit size with attractive red flesh. Similar to TRI-X® Brand 313, this seedless watermelon has a stronger, larger plant and smaller pips in the flesh. It also has larger leaves for improved plant vigor and fruit cover.
|

Sweet Delight features fruit weighing about 21
pounds, about two to three pounds larger than TRI-X®
Brand 313. It has bright red flesh and excellent
uniformity of the oval fruit shape. This watermelon
offers good fruit set and has shown adaptation for
the markets in
Mexico,
Texas, and the Eastern and
Western United States.
|

TRI-X® Brand 212 is the “smaller brother” of
TRI-X® Brand 313. It has the same adaptability as
its bigger brother, but with an average fruit weight
of two pounds less. This “medium” sized seedless
watermelon has shown excellent uniformity and very
good fruit set with the same excellent fruit quality
that has made TRI-X® Brand 313 a legend in its own
time.
|

TRI-X® Brand 313, christened the “Original
Seedless,” sets the standard for all other
triploid watermelons. From seed germination to
harvest, this variety has adapted to many climactic
regions of the world with established performance.
TRI-X® Brand 313 has no peer in quality and
consistency, and features a firm texture, crispness
of flesh, and sweetness.
|

TRI-X®
Brand Palomar features firm, crisp, solid, bright
red flesh. The fruit is wrapped with a unique rind
pattern easily identified by growers and consumers.
Palomar has shown excellent yield potential with
high fruit setting ability and improved fruit
arrivals due to the firm flesh. The firm flesh also
gives it exceptional field holding ability. In
trials, this variety has shown low incidence of
hollow heart, resulting in a higher quality
watermelon.

| Specialty
Seedless |

Imagination features a glossy black rind, deep red
flesh, and a compact size that can create a
sensation in the seedless specialty markets. This
true Sugar Baby seedless has a sweet, crisp, mouth
watering flesh. It is a widely adaptable and early
maturing variety with a vigorous plant, attractive
appearance, and outstanding quality.
Imagination is well-suited to all major
watermelon markets, not just markets where Sugar
Baby types are in demand.
|

Amarillo
stands out with its brilliant, deep yellow flesh and
large, distinctive globe shape. In trials, this
watermelon has shown less tendency to hollow heart
than other yellow-fleshed varieties, resulting in
more harvestable fruit.
|

Matrix (RWT 8145) is an elongated seedless watermelon with an Allsweet-type rind pattern. It has shown excellent fruit quality with an average fruit weight from 16 to 21 pounds, plus an improved fruit set, better uniformity, and larger fruit size than current competitive varieties. It offers excellent plant vigor, less hollow heart than competing varieties, and the added advantage of intermediate resistance to fusarium and anthracnose.
|
| Grafting |

Emphasis is a lagenaria-type root
stock for grafting seedless
watermelon. It has a relatively
shallow root system that does best
under cold/cool and wet growing conditions
and also does well in heavier soils.
It does not perform well under hot and
dry conditions. This root stock has demonstrated
good performance under soil
disease pressure, and offers intermediate resistance
to fusarium wilt. The grafted
plants have good fruit setting ability
and can be 20% larger with darker red
flesh and a larger fruit size than non-grafted
plants. Emphasis has performed
well in the Eastern United States. It
is available exclusively
through the Full Count™
program.
|

Strong Tosa is an interspecific
squash hybrid type for
grafting watermelon and melon. It has
a deep root system that performs best under
hot and dry conditions, and offers good
performance under soil disease pressure.
This root stock produces a very strong,
vigorous plant that can be 50% larger
than non-grafted plants. Its fruit can also
be larger with darker red flesh and greater
flesh firmness. Strong Tosa has intermediate
resistance to fusarium wilt and vine
decline (Monosporascus cannonballus). It
is available exclusively through the Full Count™
program.

A multi-branched thin vine plant with lacey type leaves. This
Super Pollenizer™ grows over the top of commercial seedless varieties and produces pollen over an extended period of time with no required "dedicated plant space" in a seedless watermelon field. Plant is
non- competitive and grows well in a seedless field. |

This new Super Pollenizer™ offers an excellent package of intermediate disease resistance to: Fusarium wilt races 0, 1 and 2; plus Anthracnose. SP-4 is basically the same as SP-1 but now has the added benefit of disease resistance and has shown to be very "durable" under disease pressure and adverse growing conditions. |
