Complete Zucchini Program for the
Eastern U.S. |
|

Spineless Beauty sets the standard for zucchini in
the Eastern US. In commercial plantings, this variety has produced
outstanding yields of high quality, uniform, medium
green fruit that set early on an open plant. In
shelf life tests, its fruit have maintained their
attractive, glossy appearance, even after
refrigerated storage. Spineless Beauty is the only
commercial squash variety with spineless petioles,
so fruit are less likely to be damaged during
harvest.
|

Dividend features intermediate
resistance to zucchini yellow mosaic virus, making
it a good complement to Spineless Beauty. In the
Midwest, Southeast, and Winter production areas,
this hybrid zucchini squash has demonstrated an
ability to outperform competing varieties in cooler
temperatures with improved fruit length and quality,
especially under virus pressure. This variety’s
vigorous, medium- to large-sized open bush is easy
to harvest, and its uniform fruit often translate to
high packouts.
|

CashFlow has produced high yields of attractive
fruit with adequate length in East Coast trials. In
some university trials, yields have been 14 to 25%
higher than comparable varieties and it has tended
to have a larger, more vigorous plant. CashFlow
benefits growers with an ability to produce high
quality, straight, attractive fruit in later
harvests when other varieties become less
marketable.
|
|

Payroll features intermediate resistance to powdery
mildew, zucchini yellow mosaic virus, and watermelon
mosaic virus. In Eastern trials, this medium green
zucchini has demonstrated very good adaptability,
high yield potential, and excellent fruit quality.
Payroll also features wide adaptability, a key
advantage noted in the Eastern growing regions of
the US
and
Canada.
|

Envy features glossy,
cylindrical fruit and has shown wide adaptability
for several Eastern growing areas where slightly
darker zucchini are desirable. In trials, it has
produced upright, open, nearly spineless plants with
high yield potential. The variety has also
shown adequate length plus more uniform fruit color
and a more vigorous plant than comparable varieties.
The excellent quality fruit are of the
“easy-pick” type, meaning they are easily
twisted off the plant with the fruit and peduncle
intact. Envy has intermediate resistance to zucchini
yellow mosaic virus and powdery mildew.
|

Paycheck features intermediate
resistance to cucumber mosaic
virus, powdery mildew, zucchini
yellow mosaic virus, and watermelon mosaic virus.
In Eastern trials, this medium
green zucchini has demonstrated very
good adaptability, high yield potential, and
excellent fruit quality. Paycheck also has the
ability to maintain shape and length in cool/cold
conditions.

Recognized Leader in Dark Green
Zucchini |
|

Noche offers growers improved performance as well as
intermediate resistance to zucchini yellow mosaic
virus and watermelon mosaic virus. In commercial
plantings, this dark green zucchini has delivered
excellent fruit quality and very good yield
potential. It has also compared well to Raven and
other competitive varieties.
|

Contender provides strong, nearly spineless plants
with the added benefit of intermediate resistance to
zucchini yellow mosaic virus and watermelon mosaic
virus. This zucchini has continued the high yield
reputation of Raven and has developed fruit slightly
longer than Noche under some circumstances. It tends
to perform best in Spring harvests in West Mexico.
|

Equinox is a dark green
zucchini with intermediate resistance to powdery
mildew. This high quality hybrid tends to have
exceptionally attractive, dark green glossy fruit
borne on a nearly spineless, open, upright plant. In
addition to the “easy-picking” peduncle, Equinox
has been easy to harvest with minimal to no fruit
damage. This high quality hybrid is an excellent
addition to any dark green zucchini growing program
and, with its disease package, will complement Noche,
Contender, and Raven.
|

Envy features glossy,
cylindrical fruit and has shown wide adaptability
for several Eastern growing areas where slightly
darker zucchini are desirable. In trials, it has
produced upright, open, nearly spineless plants with
high yield potential. The variety has also
shown adequate length plus more uniform fruit color
and a more vigorous plant than comparable varieties.
The excellent quality fruit are of the
“easy-pick” type, meaning they are easily
twisted off the plant with the fruit and peduncle
intact. Envy has intermediate resistance to zucchini
yellow mosaic virus and powdery mildew.

powdery mildew. This grey zucchini features a plant
that is very upright, allowing for easier
harvesting. Its fruit have a slightly darker stem
that contrasts nicely with the classic grey fruit
color. |

Yellow Hybrids Straight and
Crooknecks |
|

Enterprise
sets the standard for Southeast growers. This yellow
straightneck squash features a very productive,
vigorous plant and broad adaptability. The variety
typically provides a high yield and is a consistent
performer with very smooth fruit with a slim and
attractive bulb.
|

Gentry has consistently
produced outstanding yields of butter yellow,
smooth-skinned fruit with small blossom scars. This
semi-crookneck Summer squash tends to perform well
even under high temperatures.
Its vigorous bush has fewer spines than
competing varieties, a feature that can reduce fruit
damage during harvest and maximize profits. Gentry
is well adapted to most semi-crookneck production
areas, particularly in the Southeast.
|

Gold Star offers an improved
disease package with intermediate resistance to
cucumber mosaic virus and powdery mildew. In trials,
this yellow semi-crookneck squash produced an
extremely vigorous plant with outstanding fruit
smoothness and quality even under rough field
conditions. The plant’s reduced spine and the
fruit’s strong neck mean fruit is less likely to
be damaged during harvest. Compared to similar
varieties, Gold Star has maintained a highly
consistent pattern of adaptability and a
demonstrated capacity for maintaining a crook and
uniform fruit color through the last harvest of a
planting. Gold Star can provide higher packouts of
fancy grade fruit throughout the season.

|
Proven Quality in Scallops and
Golden Zucchini |
|

Golden Dawn III is considered a standard in the
industry and features high quality fruit that can
set continuously. This golden yellow zucchini has an
open plant and its reduced spines ease harvest and

exceptional quality and high yields.
|

Golden Delight offers intermediate resistance to
zucchini yellow mosaic virus and watermelon mosaic
virus. This golden zucchini produces high quality,
very uniform golden-yellow fruit. The variety
features a vigorous, semi-spineless plant that
minimizes the risk of fruit damage and facilitates
harvest.
|

Sunburst yields the glossy, deep yellow fruit
consumers prefer, making it one of the most sought
after varieties for full-size and baby vegetable
dishes. The fruit may be harvested at 2 to 3 inches
as baby vegetables without compromising the tender,
buttery flavor sustained in the larger and mature
squash. Sunburst is carried on a compact, bushy
plant.
